Volleyball is a team sport in which two teams of six players are separated by a net. Each team tries to score points by grounding a ball on the other team’s court under organized rules. It has been a part of the official program of the Summer Olympic Games since Tokyo 1964.

Keep-Ups 2.0

100 points

Mark a line on the wall. Take a few steps back. Repeatedly volley, or bump, the ball above this line for as long as you can! Have someone time you, or simply count the number of repetitions you get in. The goal is to keep it up and above the line.

Materials Needed:
  • Tape, chalk or other method to mark the wall (make sure you ask parents permission first if doing this in the house).

  • A volleyball, or any other type of light bouncy ball or even a balloon.

Challenge Zone:
  • Shuffle side to side while keeping your set above the marked line.

Highlight Reel:
  • Spin around, crouch down, sit down, or lay down between reps while maintaining a volley or bump above the line.

Bump & Set

100 points

Alternating between bumping and setting for as long as you can, avoid set objects or controlling with a designated space.

Place the Ace

100 points

Serve (underhand or overhand) or spike (uses a little extra force) to different targets set up, spaced out, on the floor in front of you.

Materials Needed:
  • For the targets you can tape an ‘x’, use small toys, water bottles, tape down coloured paper, or place playing cards down. Be creative and use what you have.

  • A volleyball or any other light bouncy ball.

Choose Your Challenge:
  • Double the number of targets you’ve set up.

Highlight Reel:
  • Jump in the air before serving or spiking the ball downward to hit each target.
